It’s possible some people might accuse me of speaking against the Holy Spirit here. On the contrary, I’m explaining more about the Holy Spirit, and revealing a number of things you may not be aware of, in the hope you will more fully appreciate the unlimited nature of God.

Who is God? – Have you been told that God is a Trinity?

The Bible does not say that.

If you take a look at my photo above, you can see there are mainly three wheels. But the reality is, it’s actually a photo of two wheels with a shadow. Furthermore, there is just one main pattern that predominates – the wheel!

Although inadequate, this provides me with a working illustration to explain God and the Holy Spirit.

If you object to me saying God casts shadows, consider Luke 1:35 ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you,’ Psalms also refers several times to ‘The shadow of thy wings‘.

In the Bible Jesus calls God ‘the Father.’

Jesus is a father too (Isaiah 9:6), as he is the express image of God (Hebrews 1:3).

Isaiah 64:8, Jeremiah 31:9 and other places also talk about the God of Israel being a father.

Jesus, in fact, IS the God (YHVH) of the Old Testament (John 8:57-58 & Exodus 3:14; John 1:1 John 1:14, Acts 3:15), but there is One greater.

Jesus said he came to reveal the Father (John 17:25-26) who is greater than he. John 14:28 This verse alone, where Jesus says “My Father is greater than I” proves right here that God cannot be a Trinity of coequal persons. So although ‘coequal persons‘ is a foundational creed of many churches, it’s nonsense!

The Holy Spirit is somewhat like the shadow of God’s personality falling on the stony ground that is this world.

God is so all-encompassing that in a few places Scripture speaks about his Spirit as if the spirit is an individual. But it’s not saying that!

God is not limited to a three person trinity.

Let’s look into the Bible to prove all this.

Let’s ask the following questions:

Why doesn’t the apostle Paul acknowledge the Holy Spirit in any of his greetings to the churches? It would be an insult not to do so if the Spirit were a person.

A typical greeting from Paul went like this: 1Tim 1:2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

That’s it. No mention of the Holy Spirit!

The meaning of 2 Cor 13:14. 
The last verse of 2 Corinthians reads: The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. The meaning of this is explained by the last verse of Philemon, which says 'The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with YOUR spirit' - This ending gives you a big clue about what Paul actually means at the end of 2 Corinthians. We all have a spirit, or atmosphere, or charisma, or energy we project, either good or bad; but that spirit is an attribute of ourselves, not a separate person!
Paul is not saying the Holy Ghost is a third person, but he IS saying God's spirit of love helps true Christians to bond with each other, and with God! See 1 Cor 6:17. The word 'spirit' or 'ghost' in these verses is Strong's Greek word number G4151. It's the same word, but is your G4151 spirit a separate person? No. And neither is God's spirit.

There is also no mention of the Holy Spirit in 2 John 1:9.

Why?

Why are we never told that the Holy Spirit directly loves us, but it says Jesus loves us (John 13:34 & John 15:13), and the Father loves us (1 John 3:1) . Why is the Holy Spirit left out of John 14:21? “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” In this verse we are loved by the Father – number 1, and Jesus – number 2. Where is number 3? 

Number 3, the Holy Ghost, is missing.

According to the angel, at Mary’s conception in Luke 1:35, the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary, but elsewhere God the Father is… the father!

In Col 3:1 Christ sits on the right hand of God, but the Holy Spirit is missing here also. If the Holy Spirit were an equal part of the Trinity, how come, in Rev 5:13, everyone in heaven and on earth is honouring the Father and Jesus sitting on the right hand, but the Holy Spirit is apparently forgotten!? In fact, it is Christ that is named instead of the Holy Spirit, who ‘is all and in all,’ at the end of Col 3:11.

Also, why are we NOT told to pray to the Holy Spirit?

The answer is, although the Holy Spirit is a part of God’s nature and power Mic 3:8, Luk 4:14, 2 Tim 1:7, the Holy Spirit is not an actual ‘ghost person,’ or third person individual. Put another way, the Holy Spirit is a person, but that person is Christ in the spirit, or interchangably, God the Father in the spirit. 

John 14:18, 20 explains it, especially John 14:20.

Hebrews 1:3 also tells us Jesus sits on the right hand side of the Majesty on high, but no mention is made of where the Holy Spirit resides in God’s throne room.

Matt 28:19 is not true to the original inspired text. Check this outside link for some of the research on it. Likewise 1 John 5:7,8 was also altered.

I want to emphasise, that in no way am I speaking against God's very real and wonderful Holy Spirit, or personality and power. But I am objecting to God being described as a closed trinity. 

The Holy Spirit IS a part of God's amazing Bible signature, written in 7's throughout all books and chapters. For example, in the King James Bible there are 777×7 mentions of God + Jesus + His Spirit. 

God = 4444 mentions
Jesus = 973 mentions
His Spirit = 22 mentions
Total mentions (4444 + 973 + 22) = 5439 = (777×7)

So is God a trinity, and is the Trinity a good symbol, or not? 
Although the Father, the Son, and the Spirit add up to three in number, I'm personally very reluctant to use the Trinity label for God, bearing in mind that the Triquetra symbol incorporates 666 in the design, and can be found on Ouija Boards, Witches Chalises, and Occult Paraphernalia, yet at the same time it is used as a symbol of the "Most Holy Trinity!" To quote metayantra.org "The ovals represent the three forces of nature: earth, air and water or the triple dimension of the feminine divinity: virgin, mother and old woman. In these last two theories the circle represents the universe. The use of the Triqueta is also common, as a symbol of the infinite evolution of life, learning and wisdom in balance with the sacred number 3 that represents the three kingdoms: earth, sea and sky; present in the Celtic tradition."

The truth is, God is a family consisting of The Father, and the Son who is Jesus, who is the Word, and who also dwells in SPIRIT in true Christians. Jesus' omnipresent personality and power and essence is put into US when we are baptised into God's family kingdom, or household. Read Eph 2:18-19 coupled with verse 22 that says 'In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.' Thereby, we also eat of the bread of life, as mentioned above, so that we may be given the incredible honour of being INCLUDED in God's family fellowship BY the power of His Spirit!

Two Different Woman Representing Two Churches

In Rev 17:4-5 there is a church, depicted as a woman, wearing purple and scarlet. She is a harlot, and has MYSTERY written on her forehead.

In Revelation 14:4 there is a different group of people, who follow the lamb (Christ) and they are virgins, not harlots like the Revelation 17 woman. By contrast, the Chapter 14 virgins have the Father’s name written on their foreheads. See Rev 14:1.

Read nearly anything supporting the Trinity, and you’ll see it’s called a MYSTERY.

Whereas, NON-Trinitarian Godhead believers follow the Father and the Son. This is easy to understand, and is NOT a mystery.

Using these versus, which do you think best represents God’s true teaching — the mystery religion of man, or the faith of those who honour the Father’s name?

Why a correct understanding is important

It’s because limiting God to three individuals, limits God!

God is not limited.

More to the point, the concept of a closed Trinity obscures and limits God’s purpose for creating you and me. 

If you believe in a closed Trinity of co-equal persons, you cannot understand who God is, the plan of salvation, or why you were born!

That’s because the purpose for our life – why we were created – is to know God, grow up Eph 4:15, learn to love as He loves John 3:16, 1 John 3:16, and importantly, to become members of the family of God, as the following verses explain:

Ephesians 3:14-15 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and EARTH is named.

Psalm 82:6 (Old Testament), & Gal 4:6 (New Testament), state that humans are sons of God.

Hebrews 2:14-15 explains that humans are born captives of the devil. But we can be released, to become members of God’s unlimited expanding family!

“And God (Elohim) said, Let US make man in OUR image” , Gen 1:26

‘Ye Are Gods’ Goes Beyond Trinity!

The Bible is clear that God created animals after the animal kind, and then created humans to resemble GOD – not the animal kind. See Gen 1:24-27. Also check out Psalm 82:6

“I have said, YE are GODS (elohim); and all of you are children of the most High.” Check other translations here.

Plus, Psalms 82:1 cannot be explained in terms of the Trinity… It reads, using more accurate terminology: “Elohim standeth in the congregation of El; he judgeth among the elohim.”

There is only one God (YHVH), but God (ELohim) is like one nation, or one family.

That DOESN’T conflict with Deut 6:4 or Mark 12:29 where it says there is one Lord (one YHVH). (And if it did conflict, so would the Trinity doctrine!)

This isn’t my idea, it’s what the Bible says, putting all Scripture together.

Instead of being a third member of the God family, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit or agency or power of the Father and of Jesus (John 14:23) /YHVH (2 Cor 3:17) that is the gift that enables US to participate (next verse - 2 Cor 3:18) in the expansion of the God family! 2Ti1:7, Col 1:27, Rom 8:9, Gal 4:6.

Be sure to read all 7 of the above verses just referenced. Read together, they explain exactly what the spirit is, and prove what I’ve just said!

Our Life Purpose

The Bible states our purpose is to behold our Creator, and with the help of God’s Spirit, mirror God – 2 Cor 3:18, reflecting back to God HIS glory, so that we may grow up into the fullness of Christ. This is the meaning of Eph 4:13, which reads

“until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.“

Also read John 14:20, John 15:4-11, and especially John 17:21-23 to see that the one God includes us in his family. Note what it says: “That they may also be ONE in US.”
