When Christ returns it will be more glorious than the morning sun shown here, exploding across my yard!
But will it really be in 2028?
The short answer is, “I don’t know.” But it’s possible!
That may seem like an anticlimatic statement, but I’m bearing in mind Ecclesiastes 8:7 which reads, in the New American Standard version, “If no one knows what will happen, who can tell him when it will happen?”
I really like that. It puts all speculation in context

I’m not the only one to have speculated on the subject.
Kent Hovind speculates on 2028 in this video:
Then, there’s https://2028end.com/
So it could be 2028.
If that’s wrong,
it will still be SOON!
Additional Thoughts

Matthew 24:32 says
“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, THIS GENERATION SHALL NOT PASS, TILL ALL THESE THINGS BE FULFILLED.”
Mark 13:28 says similar. While Luke 21:24 says: And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Reading down to Luke 21:26-27, you can see that this prophecy including Jesus return, was NOT fulfilled in 70 AD.
It’s for now.
This is an end time prophecy with a specific time limit attached to it, and it includes Israel being re-established as a nation in recent times, and specifically, Jerusalem being regained from the Gentiles.
Could this be saying that, from the date that the nation of Israel has regained control of Jerusalem (which happened in 1967), that Jesus will return within one generation from that year?
It helps to understand that the people of Israel are called figs in the Bible, Eg. Jeremiah 24:5 –or read the whole chapter in which the good figs are returned to Israel and the bad are destroyed. Also Hosea 9:10.
Matthew 24 and Luke 21 both summarize the main events that will happen up until the time Jesus returns.
But also in Luke 21:32 Jesus /Yeshua says that one full generation will not pass away from the specific time or date that Jerusalem ceases to be trodden down by the gentiles (i.e. the nations) (referring back to Luke 21:24). UNTIL THE END OF THE AGE! See also Matt 24:34 and Matt 24:3.
So… Can we know what is the length of this “generation” that Jesus spoke about? And can we know exactly what he meant by the fig tree “putting forth leaves”?
Maybe…
Definitions of generation lengths do vary in the Bible.
However Psalms 90:10 strongly indicates a generation count is 70 years.
The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. (KJV)
Another version says:
[As for] the days of our years, in them are seventy years; and if [men should be] in strength, eighty years; and the greater part of them would be labor and trouble; for weakness overtakes us, and we shall be chastened. (Septuagint)
Counting forward 70 years
The Jews regained Jerusalem in a six day war in 1967. It definitely fulfilled Jesus prophecy of “when the fig tree putteth forth leaves.” It may also have fulfilled the coming to the end of “the times of the Gentiles” that Jesus spoke of. (I realise that’s debatable, because Rev 11:2 references the Gentiles [or nations] treading down the holy city for 42 months. However, the ‘Gentiles’ here may be symbolic for non-Christians, and the holy city may mean God’s people – as I said, it’s debatable.)
So let’s count forward one generation. Counting forward from 1967, using a 70 year Biblical generation could take us as far into the future as 2037. Do you see this age lasting that long? I don’t!
However, some Bible prophecy students start this prophecy count from 1948. That was the year modern Israel was established. From the 15th May 1948 and the Israeli Declaration of Independence to 5th June 1967, and the start of the six day war when Israel captured East Jerusalem, was one Metonic moon cycle of 19 years! I don’t know how precise it needs to be in order to be significant, but the precision is within one month (moon phase) of exactly 19 years. Add another 3 cycles, and we get to mid-2024. Again that’s interesting, as it’s also 3 1/2 years before 2027 ends.
IN SUMMARY
So far, on this site I’ve covered
– Thousand-year days,
– Possible generation lengths,
– Israel’s time cycles,
In future I may add more about Jubilee year arithmetic. (Now included here.)
On other pages, I cover what I believe may be
– A prophecy by Jesus about Covid 19,
– Cryptocurrencies that may help enforce the mark of the beast,
– Plus… there are many other current news events verifying end time prophecies.
How heavy is this weight of evidence indicating a Second Coming within ten years, and maybe as soon as 2028?
I am not setting dates.
However, do not ignore the increasing seriousness of world events.
Accurately discerning the timing for Jesus return should motivate you to make life altering decisions, not only physically but spiritually as well.
JESUS RETURN IS IMMINENT.
How significant the above calculations are, only time will tell. Jesus said in Matt 24:39 that his second coming would be like the timing of the flood in the days of Noah, and like the prophecy against Nineveh, an ‘utter end’ will come like an ‘overrunning flood’ Nahum 1:8.
According to my present understanding, between now and the second coming, ten kings need to be established to rule over the whole earth, as per Revelation 17:12 (ten kings, who have received no kingdom yet). This cross-references to the ten toes of iron and clay at the bottom of the great image in Daniel 2:34-35 just before Christ’s return.
A Fake Return
There will also be a fake 2nd coming; when the devil himself impersonates Jesus. (2 Cor 11:14, Rev 19:20 etc.) But if you remember these two things, it will be easy to tell the real Jesus from the fake:
(1) On pain of death, the fake Jesus will enforce SUNDAY keeping (click here) (Rev 13:15-17).
(2) When Jesus comes as a conquering king he will end all deception about himself. Therefore, in time order… the deceptive fake Jesus comes FIRST.
The following is in reference to the last world ruling kingdom mentioned in Daniel Chapter 2, plus Job 8:13-15.
With rainfall,
Base metals turn to rust.
And evil men are swept away like cobwebs,
Or dust.

As per my short poem, given time, iron (the base metal of Daniel 2:33) can rust. However, when Jesus returns, the wind will sweep the iron and the great image (symbolising the ungodly kingdoms) away, according to Daniel 2:35.
Jesus, of course, is the rock that strikes this statue on its feet, so when this happens there will be no time for rust… Events now, leading to the sudden fulfilment of this prophecy, are coalescing.
When Christ returns, Psalm 126:5, poetically translated, says:
Those who sow in tears,
shall reap with cheers!
In another place, in Psalm 30:5 it says:
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
And in another place, Romans 13:12
The night is far spent, the day is at hand.
Many, many scriptures refer either directly or indirectly to the hope of Jesus second coming, such as Titus 2:13, or (off-site link) 2 Peter Chapter 3.
